Our scripture this morning is 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:16-21.

“So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”

Paul speaks of our responsibility to share the Good News with the world. He tells us “we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us” (v. 20). Jesus gave us the wonderful mission to carry the truth of God’s love for us to everyone.

This may seem daunting at first, but we have God’s presence with us through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Imagine being an uneducated fisherman as Peter was, addressing thousands at the Pentecost celebration (Acts 2). God gave him the skill and confidence needed to speak to a large diverse group about Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Concerned about your ability to be one of Christ’s ambassadors? The same Holy Spirit given to the Apostles is given to us as well! We are called and commissioned just as they were to go in His name, and God will make sure we have what we need to accomplish it.

Heavenly Father, You bless us with amazing things and invite us to be part of Your wonderful work. May we go in faith, sharing Your love with all Your children. Amen.
