Our scripture today is Romans 5:1-6.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

“At the right time, Christ died for the ungodly”. That statement should make us shudder, not merely that He died, but that He died even for those who had not yet accepted Him. Jesus died for us all and that gift is waiting for each of us.

God didn’t send Jesus to save only a certain group or just a few hand-picked individuals. Christ came to redeem all the world and every human has the opportunity to choose Him and follow into salvation. Once we make that choice, it becomes our duty to share that blessing with everyone.

Jesus teaches us it won’t be easy. Paul writes that while we will face hardship, it will strengthen us and make us better able to testify to God’s truth. We are called and commissioned through Christ’s sacrifice for us, may we go in faith to share His love.

Gracious God, thank You for sending Jesus to save us all. He demonstrates Your love for each one of us. Help us to demonstrate that love in return, to You and all our brothersĀ andĀ sisters. Amen.
