There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
Paul teaches, as Jesus did, that there are no classes or divisions among believers. While we may have different gifts and different calls on our lives, we are all part of the body of Christ. No one is greater than or more necessary than any other.
God has a place in the kingdom for all of us, work that is designed specifically for each one. In 1 Corinthians 12 Paul writes about different gifts of the spirit and how they work together as the body of Christ, each relying on the other just as in the human body. We also know that when one part of the body suffers, the whole body suffers (1 Corinthians 12:26), and so it is with the body of Christ as well; we must help others be whole, spiritually and physically if we are to complete the work.
Do you know a brother or sister who is suffering? Are there those around you who do not yet know the love of God in their lives? Reach out to all those in need that they may once again be vital parts of the body of Christ, engaged in kingdom work!
Gracious God, we are grateful for all the gifts of the spirit that enable us to accomplish the mission You have given us. Keep us safe in Your love and strong in our faith to do the work for which we are called. Amen.
