Our scripture this morning is Deuteronomy 34:5-6 (ESV).
So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord, and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows the place of his burial to this day.
The story of Moses and the people’s journey to the Promised Land is one of the longest narratives in all of scripture. It is part of our faith as Christians in that we too have a heritage from this story. While God can do anything, He chooses to work with us, using human interaction to accomplish His will. Perhaps our world and our societies have changed, but we are not so different as people than those who wandered in the desert with Moses. God still wants a relationship with each one of us individually and with all His children collectively. We look to Jesus as our Savior and example and go to share His love everywhere.
Gracious God, You have sent Your Son to love and save us. May we be energetic in our faith sharing, bringing Your love and Your word to the world. Amen.
